Additional information
- Small-Scale Issue Committees (SSIC) are not required to file disclosure reports until they exceed $5,000 in activity. For more details, please review 1-45-108(1.5) and (2), C.R.S.
- Electioneering Communication (EC) time period starts 30 days before the Primary Election and continues through the day before the General Election. These types of communications mention one or more candidates and are part of the regular / standard reports for registered committees and may require non-registered person(s), organizations, etc., to file a separate report.
- These types of transactions will require you to provide additional information, please review the Colorado Campaign and Political Finance manual (PDF) or the Colorado Campaign Finance Laws/Rules for more information.
- Electioneering Communication reports do not apply to Issue Committees.
- 24-Hour Notice of Major Contributor reports are required starting 30 days before a Primary Election and 30 days before the General Election. These reports are due within 24 hours of receiving a major contribution. A major contribution is a contribution of $1,000 or more that is received within the 30 days before the Primary Election and 30 days before the General Election. This is in addition to the regular/standard reports listed above and applies to:
- Candidate Committees whose office appears on the Primary and / or General Election Ballot,
- Political Parties, and
- Issue Committees (only applies the 30 days before the General Election).
- 48-Hour Notice of Independent Expenditure reports are required starting 30 days before a Primary Election and 30 days before the General Election. These reports are due within 48 hours of obligating / spending funds in excess of $1,000 for an Independent Expenditure (to support or oppose one or more candidates). This is in addition to the regular / standard reports listed above and applies to:
- Independent Expenditure Committees
