2024 Supplemental Report Calendar

Primary Election: Tuesday, June 25, 2024
General Election: Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Electioneering communication period: Starts 30 days before the Primary Election and continues until the day before the General Election, and includes communications which are broadcasted, printed, mailed, delivered, or otherwise distributed, and that mentions one or more candidates.

When you spend $1,000 or more in a calendar year on this type of communication, include it on your standard disclosure report. You’ll also need to include the method and dates of the communication as well as the names of the candidates mentioned.

24-Hour Major Contributor Report (MC) and 48-Hour Independent Expenditure Report periods: The periods for these reports starts 30 days before the Primary Election and ends the day before the Primary Election and then starts again 30 days before the General Election and ends the day before the General Election.

A Major Contribution (MC) is any contribution (monetary or non-monetary / in-kind), including loans by a candidate to their own candidate committee, of $1,000 or more given at any time within 30 days before the Primary and General Elections. If received, you must file a MC Report within 24-Hours of receipt. The MC report only applies to candidate committees whose candidate’s office appears on the ballot, political parties, and issue committees. Issue Committees are excluded from the Primary Election 24-hour major contributor report requirement.

An Independent Expenditure (IE) expressly advocates for or against a candidate and is not coordinated with a candidate, candidate committee, or political party. Within 30 days before the Primary and General Elections, if you obligate funds in excess of $1,000 for an IE, you’ll need to file a separate IE report. The IE report is due within 48-hours of obligating funds for the IE. Applies to Independent Expenditure Committees.

Both the 24-Hour MC and 48-Hour IE reports are separate from your standard disclosure report.
