Q2. What is a certified search report?

A2. A certified search report is a list of all of the records that matched the search term that you entered. It includes the debtors and secured parties as well as any amendments. A certificate is included that certifies that the report contains all of the records on file for that particular debtor name as of the current date.

A certified search report can be used as evidence that a UCC financing statement naming a particular debtor was or was not on record as of the date of the search. You must have a UCC Account to obtain a certified search report.
